All the single ladies, All the single ladies!!

Throughout Europe and North America the toss of the bride’s bouquet to the single women present at the wedding, has become a tradition and anticipated activity at the reception.

Dating back centuries, a bride typically did not expect to wear her wedding dress again, and the dress was considered good luck for other women – a type of fertility charm.  As a result, after the wedding, single women chased the bride and ripped parts off her dress to obtain a piece of good luck – leaving the dress in tatters and the bride in tears.

The toss of the Bride’s bouquet evolved from the desire of the bride to give her female guests a lucky souvenir, while preserving her dress. To prevent guests from tearing her wedding dress, brides began tossing their wedding bouquets as lucky souvenirs. It has also been said that whoever catches the bouquet will become the next bride.

Over the years, wedding dresses have become more expensive and it has become somewhat of a tradition for brides to keep their dress, either as a memento of their Special Day or to pass on to their daughter for her wedding day.

The decision to toss your bridal bouquet is completely up to you. However as more and more brides are deciding to wait longer to get married or even deciding to remain single, calling out your single friends to catch the bouquet is not always well received.

Hi Mike

You are a true professional with a wealth of knowledge. You provided a lot of insights and perspectives in our planning process that really helped us create a ceremony that was to our liking.

Mike asked us a lot of the right questions during our initial meetings to get to know who we were so he could execute accordingly.  He prepared us for what to expect and he didn’t only do exactly as we asked of him, but was great with helping with small details and oversights without us even asking.  We would recommend Mike and Enduring Promises to anyone.

THANKS AGAIN MIKE!

Hi Rinette,

We want to thank you for officiating our wedding – our ceremony was lovely.

We wouldn’t have changed a thing in terms of how we approached it and how long it was, etc. It was the best part of our day.

The online template was fantastic. We wouldn’t have known where to begin if it wasn’t for that.

Thanks again, you were wonderful!

Hi Jim,

You were very accommodating throughout the process and our day was certainly memorable.  Mark and I were so pleased with our wedding ceremony. We received many compliments from friends and family and especially enjoyed that you added personality and made us and our guest laugh a little during the ceremony.

The Enduring Promises ceremony template was highly useful and easy to use.  We were very happy to have a starting point but also appreciated the freedom we had to totally personalize our ceremony.

Enduring Promises was very easy to work with and always prompt on their responses.  Given that we were planning our wedding from a distance, it was always a relief to be able to reach both you and the company easily.

Once again, Jim, thank you so much.  We had a wonderful wedding day.  We will not hesitate to recommend you and Enduring Promises to any of our friends in the future.

All the best,

Danielle and Mark
