A Little Bit About me ….
Congratulations on your engagement!
As you prepare for your wedding, it is an exciting and happy time in your life and your wedding will be an occasion full of joy and celebration. I would love to be a part of this special day as you begin your life together.
My Personal Story ….
I recently moved to be closer to some of my family and am enjoying getting to know my neighbourhood, a new city and the people!
My Family ….
I have 2 brothers, 8 nieces, and nephews, and 14 great-nieces and nephews! It’s great spending time with them – getting to know them and seeing them grow. I had the privilege of performing the wedding ceremony for 2 of my neices.
My Life Experience ….
My heart for people has been expressed throughout my career. I left my business career to return to graduate school which led me into community outreach in the inner city. Most recently, I worked for a cancer charity, managing national support, education, and research programs for women with cancer. I also operated a small consulting business offering workshops and seminars about burnout and compassion fatigue.
Through these experiences, I have learned the importance of listening and I value being able to help people clarify what they need and what is important to them. I hope this will be of benefit in helping you plan a wedding ceremony that is personal and meaningful to both you and will reflect exactly what you want for this memorable day.
My Interests & Passions ….
I’ve also learned that it is important to take breaks and have some fun in life!
My main passion is travel. Paris is my favorite city, Morocco is my most exotic experience and the beach is my favorite vacation. Cottage life and baseball are also things I enjoy, and I just bought a new bike!
What couples are saying
Marilyn was great to work with, we cannot recommend her highly enough!
She was personable and easy to talk to and she always made sure our voices were heard and that we were happy every step of the way!
Getting married is such a happy time but can also be stressful, we always felt supported and a little less stressed after every session.
We wanted a shorter ceremony but to still include some traditional aspects and Marilyn helped us find our balance while being mindful of our ceremony length preference. We also wanted to honour our late mothers and she very tastefully incorporated aspects of them into the ceremony.
We couldn’t imagine our day without Marilyn marrying us and many of our guests commented on how well the ceremony went and wished they too had an officiant who made things so personal and meaningful and who made sure we were happy!
Thanks again, Marilyn!

Marilyn officiated our wedding ceremony and during our planning meeting, she asked questions and listened closely so she could personalize our day. It was not a "cookie-cutter" process, but one that made us think about why our relationship was special and unique for us. Our ceremony reflected those conversations. I also appreciated Marilyn's humour... a welcome relief during a stressful time. I would recommend Marilyn to those of you looking for a personal and meaningful experience on your wedding day.
We waited 30 years for our big day. Enduring Promises made everything easy, they were quick to respond, helpful and very knowledgeable. Our officiant Marilyn Sapsford was amazing she made our special day so much more for us. I highly recommend her and Enduring Promises!
