…a little bit about me.

I want to congratulate you on your engagement and upcoming wedding. I have had the privilege of officiating many weddings since 1994 and it is always a joy to be a part of a couples journey together. It would be an honour to be a part of your wedding and come alongside you to make your day special.

Personal Story

I was born in Scotland and moved to Canada with my family when I was five years old. By the time I graduated High School in Tillsonburg ON, I had the privilege of living in five different communities in Southwestern Ontario and Eastern Ontario. I attended Masters College & Seminary from 1988 until my graduation in 1992. Since that time I have resided in cities and communities across Ontario, and most recently have been in Simcoe for over five years.

My Family

I met my wonderful wife Jackey while attending college and we were married in 1992. I am blessed to have had her by my side ever since. We have three wonderful adult children, two of whom are married, and our youngest is still at home attending college. Of the many weddings I have officiated the most rewarding was my son and my daughter’s weddings! It was such a blessing to be able to walk my daughter down the aisle and then officiate her marriage ceremony.

My Life Experiences

Since graduating college, my wife and I have been involved in the non profit sector and have served many people in our community. We love being involved in the communities that we have lived in, and as a result, have been blessed with many friendships and relationships through the years that have stood the test of time.

My Interests

I love coming alongside people and giving support to them in their life journey. I love to encourage and help others discover their potential. I enjoy running and playing basketball, even though I am doing both at a much slower pace. My children would say I am stuck in the 80’s, but that’s not true. I simply prefer 80’s music because it is better than today’s music IMO, along with jazz and old-school country. I am a sucker for a good movie. Basketball, especially the Toronto Raptors is my sports passion. However, the Bad Boy Pistons will always be my favourite lineup. My favourite thing in the world is time away somewhere warm with my wife Jackey, or gathering with all 3 of our children and their spouses. We are still (patiently) waiting for grandchildren.
