A Little Bit About me ….
Welcome to Enduring Promises and congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I became a wedding Officiant because I love meeting new people and I also love weddings! It fills me with so much joy to meet such happy couples, continuing their journeys and allowing me to be a part of their amazing stories.
My Personal Story ….
I was born and raised in Sarnia, Ontario, on our farm near the town of Dresden. I feel so fortunate to have had the privilege of being raised both in a city and in the country. I have a love for animals as we grew up with dogs, cats, chickens, and horses, but I also love the hustle and bustle of the city. My journey then took me to Queen’s University, the University of Western Ontario, and then to Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. Upon returning I moved to Toronto to begin my career as a teacher and have come to love the wonderful diversity of this city.
My Family ….
For as long as I can remember I wanted to be a mom. I am so blessed to have three children who have grown into two wonderful young adults and one teenager. Our house is full of chaos, energy and lots of laughter. I can’t forget to mention our most spoiled baby, Maddie, our golden doodle.
My Life Experience ….
I moved to Toronto when I was 24 years old to pursue a career in education. I have since taught elementary school for 27 years. I have taught almost every subject and grade as I love change. I also love to run extra-curricular activities for the students from Me to We, Talent Shows, Choir, Football, Volleyball, Soccer, etc.. The long-lasting relationships I have formed with many students as well as their families over the years have made the job very rewarding.
My Interests & Passions ….
I have always had a passion for helping people in need. I have volunteered for various organizations since I was a teenager. My most recent work has been with the homeless in downtown Toronto as well as working with refugees in France. Our family has recently sponsored a refugee from Ethiopia and we look forward to helping him transition into Canadian society. I love to travel and meet and live amongst different cultures. I also love nature and it is a big part of my life. I especially love the water, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, hiking around our beautiful city as well as camping up north with a good book to read. Our family enjoys riding ATVs at the farm and helping my dad collect the sap from the trees to make maple syrup.
