It’s due to be a hot one today, really hot…but don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. Being from South Africa I grew up basking in the sun and the heat, and it’s something I pine for by the time March rolls around.
I just returned from an early morning run, (don’t say it, I know) and I’m sitting in my family room organizing my thoughts for the next blog. I’m all set to write about the transportation challenges on the wedding day, when I notice a beautiful cardinal in my yard. At the same time a boy goes by wearing “A Proud to be Canadian” t-shirt.
What am I doing – it’s Canada Day. Why am I locked inside writing a wedding blog? It’s time to put the keyboard away, be thankful for my new homeland and enjoy the blessings that come with living in such a great country.
So to all of us who have a choice, turn your computer off and enjoy the Canada Day holiday. The work can wait until tomorrow – the cardinal may not.
